Goldman pulls out of talks to launch co-branded card for T-Mobile US, WSJ says

Goldman Sachs (GS) recently ended advanced discussions to launch a co-branded credit card for T-Mobile US (TMUS) and is pausing efforts to acquire new credit card programs, The Wall Street Journal’s AnnaMaria Andriotis reports. The T-Mobile account would have been Goldman’s third card program, following Apple (AAPL) and GM (GM), the report notes. Goldman decided to walk away from the discussions in recent weeks, in large part because of concerns about rewards costs and other expense, and T-Mobile was concerned about moving forward with Goldman as the bank rethinks its consumer ambitions, according to people familiar with the matter. The people also say Goldman also recently stopped courting the Hawaiian Airlines (HA), which is weighing whether to change its current issuer, Barclays (BCS). Reference Link
