General Motors (GM) ambition to cut Tesla’s (TSLA) lead time in electric vehicle manufacturing is fading, amid the car company’s struggle to make a new battery pack for the electric vehicles it has in its plan, wrote Neal Boudette for the New York Times. Mary Barra, the GM chief, said the delays in making the battery pack were “disappointing” and stemmed from a supplier’s manufacturing missteps, added the Times’ story. Other listed companies in the electric vehicle, EV battery and lithium space include Ford (F), Volkswagen (VWAGY), Albemarle (ALB) and FMC Corporation (FMC).
