Friedrich Merz, the man likely to become Germany’s next leader, has warned Elon Musk would face consequences for boosting the far-right Alternative for Germany, AfD, through his social-media platform X, Bertrand Benoit of The Wall Street Journal reports. “What happened in this election campaign cannot go unchallenged,” Friedrich Merz, told the Wall Street Journal. Musk repeatedly called on X for Germans to vote for the AfD at the coming general election. When asked specifically if the consequences facing Musk could affect Tesla (TSLA), whose only European Gigafactory is in Germany, Merz said, “I am deliberately leaving the consequences open for now.”
