Former BT boss Jansen targets Rentokil takeover, Sunday Times reports

Philip Jansen, the former boss of BT Group (BTGOF), is in talks with private equity firms for a takeover bid of Rentokil Initial (RTO), The Sunday Times’ Oliver Shah and Laith Al-Khalaf report. According to the report, the plan would see Jansen installed as executive chairman of Rentokil, adding that Jansen is “close” to Bain Capital and that CVC is thought to be among private equity firms looking at Rentokil, though it is not clear whether that is as part of Jansen’s consortium. Jansen and his prospective backers would likely look to improve the integration of Terminix and then use Rentokil as a consolidation vehicle to buy more pest control companies in the U.S., and ultimately may seek to re-list it in the U.S., according to the report.
