Southern California Edison, a subsidiary of Edison International (EIX), is being accused of causing the deadly Eaton Fire after its equipment allegedly produced a powerful electric arc near Altadena, California, according to a law firm suing the utility, Bloomberg Law’s Maia Spoto reports. The firm cites newly surfaced security camera footage from a nearby gas station. The footage reportedly shows an electrical arc, followed by a fire erupting in the same area about 10 minutes later.
