DOJ lawyer who helped file Apple, Google suits to lead BoC, Bloomberg reports

Daniel Guarnera, a DOJ lawyer who helped file U.S. antitrust lawsuits against Apple (AAPL) and Google (GOOGL), is expected to be named to lead the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, Bloomberg’s Leah Nylen and Josh Sisco report, citing people familiar with the plans. Susan Musser is currently heading the Bureau of Competition in an interim capacity until Guarnera can move to the FTC, according to the report. Additionally, FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson has selected Chris Mufarrige, a chief of staff to one of the commissioners, to head the Bureau of Consumer Protection. The appointments indicate the agency is likely to keep an aggressive enforcement stance, in particular against giant technology companies, Bloomberg says.
