Diamondback Energy (FANG) is in talks to buy Double Eagle, a West Texas energy producer, and a deal could be announced in the coming days, Benoit Morenne and Lauren Thomas of Wall Street Journal report, citing people familiar with the matter. Double Eagle could be valued at more than $5B in the transaction, sources told the Journal. It is ossible another suitor could emerge, the paper notes.
