DEA judge postpones cannabis rescheduling hearings, Marijuana Moment reports

DEA Administrative Law Judge John Mulrooney has canceled the first hearings on the proposal to reschedule cannabis to a Schedule III drug after a legal challenge from pro-reform witnesses, Marijuana Moment’s Kyle Jaeger reports, citing the ruling. Mulrooney rejected arguments from rescheduling proponents regarding how alleged improper communications and witness selection decisions by a DEA Administrator warranted the agency’s removal from the process. He did grant a request for leave to file an interlocutory appeal, canceling the planned January 21 hearing and staying the proceedings for at least three months. Publicly traded companies in the space include Aurora Cannabis (ACB), CV Sciences (CVSI), Canopy Growth (CGC), Cronos Group (CRON), Green Thumb Industries (GTBIF), IGC Pharma (IGC), Tilray (TLRY), Trees Corporation (CANN) and Trulieve Cannabis (TCNNF).
