GitLab (GTLB) could be exploring a sale, with Datadog (DDOG) rumored to be interested, Baird tells investors in a research note. Datadog has been focused on the DevSecOps opportunity for a while now, and adding GitLab’s capabilities to its platform could strengthen its positioning by giving it a stronger foothold in the earlier stages of app development, the firm says. However, while a potentially compelling opportunity for Datadog, a deal for GitLab could introduce integration risk and complexities, Baird adds. The firm made no change to its Outperform rating or $140 price target on Datadog shares.
