Private equity firm CVC Capital Partners has been holding preliminary talks with Vivendi (VIVHY) about a potential purchase of the company’s 24% holding in Telecom Italia (TIAOF), people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg’s Daniele Lepido, Aaron Kirchfeld, Benoit Berthelot and Dinesh Nair. Such a deal could pave the way for a potential takeover of Italy’s biggest telecommunications company, the report added.
