Citi is in talks to initiate a new direct-lending strategy by early January, the latest in a series of efforts by the company to gain a foothold in the booming $1.6T private credit market, Bloomberg’s Paula Seligson reports. The strategy would complement the lender’s existing broadly syndicated leverage finance operations, the author says, citing a person with knowledge of the matter.
