Citi has “mixed views” on the merits of a potential GitLab (GTLB) acquisition by Datadog (DDOG), should the press reports of the combination transpire. Beyond “obvious” near-term dilution, the deal would introduce integration and execution risk and stoke skepticism on at-scale monetization success, the analyst tells investors in a research note. However, the firm acknowledges the secular pluses of a “beefier DevSecOps story.”
