The NBA’s Boston Celtics have not been purchased or $6.1B to private equity investor William Chisholm, as was previously reported by Sportico, as the $6.1B figure is just the initial price for a majority stake, Axios’ Dan Primack reports. The NBA’s New York Knicks are owned by Madison Square Garden Sports (MSGS), whose James Dolan serves as Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of both MSG Sports and Madison Square Garden Entertainment (MSGE).
