China to push policy boosting RISC-V chip use nationwide, Reuters reports

In the country’s efforts to dissuade any dependence on “Western-owned technology,” China is encouraging the use of RISC-V technology, which is used in the design of “anything from smartphone chips to advanced processors for AI,” Che Pan and Brenda Goh wrote for Reuters, citing sources briefed on the matter.
