China’s commerce ministry is extending its anti-dumping investigation into brandy originating in the European Union by three months, which is less than the full extension allowed according to its previous guidance, Reuters reports. The probe, with was launched on January 5th and was due to be completed in a year, will be completed on April 5. The ministry said preliminary findings have shown dumping of EU brandy threatens to damage China’s sector, leading it to impose temporary measures on EU brandy imports including LVMH’s (LVMUY) Hennessy and Remy Martin. Many view the probe as the outcome of France’s support of EU tariffs of China-made EVs.
