Mizuho says that after the close last night, CenterPoint Energy (CNP) submitted a letter to the Public Utility Commission of Texas declaring it had reached a non-unanimous settlement in their Houston Electric rate case, with details to follow in the next week. The firm’s contact in Texas said the parties to the settlement include representation from parties of consequence. While Mizuho views the “long-awaited” settlement as a positive, it believes investors will wait to come back into the story once financial parameters of the settlement are made public. It keeps a Neutral rating on the shares.
