Barclays upgraded Capital One (COF) to Overweight from Equal Weight with a price target of $219, up from $158. Heading into 2025, the firm favors consumer finance stocks “with positive catalysts that have not been fully priced in and could drive additional upside.” It upgraded Capital One and Discover on increased likelihood of a merger and better credit and excess capital.
