Raymond James upgraded Brighthouse Financial (BHF) to Strong Buy from Market Perform with a $72 price target In January, the Financial Times reported that Brighthouse is seeking to sell itself, notes the analyst, who believes the company could unlock “substantial value” via a whole company sale or carve up or by using creative options to free up capital. The firm estimates a baseline whole company sale valuation of $77 per share and thinks Brighthouse could potentially generate a higher valuation by selling multiple pieces of its business to the respective highest bidders, noting that it estimates a standalone valuation of $66 per share.
