The Biden Administration announced the federal government will grant car and auto parts factories in eight states $1.7B to begin producing EVs and other clean energy technology, Jack Ewing of The New York Times reports. A Jeep factory in Belvidere, Illinois, which the brand’s parent Stellantis (STLA) closed last year, is among the recipients. Other beneficiaries include a factory in Georgia that will make Blue Bird (BLBD) electric school buses, a General Motors (GM) factory in Michigan, and a Harley-Davidson (HOG) factory in Pennsylvania.
