Beijing is debating on whether it will hold up Broadcom’s (AVGO) $69B acquisition of VMware (VMW), Qianer Liu, Cheng Leng, and Ryan McMorrow of The Financial Times reports. China’s State Administration of Market Regulation have yet to sign off on the deal and will likely delay approving the transaction, three people familiar with the matter told the Times. Two of the Times’ sources added China’s merger and acquisition approvals for U.S. companies now require additional consultations.
