Baker Hughes reports U.S. rig count up 4 to 586 rigs

Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is up 4 from last week to 586 with oil rigs up 1 to 480, gas rigs up 2 to 100 and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 6. The U.S. Rig Count is down 37 rigs from last year’s count of 623 with oil rigs down 19, gas rigs down 21 and miscellaneous up 3. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is up 1 to 14, down 7 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is down 9 from last week to 249, with oil rigs down 9 to 177, gas rigs unchanged at 72 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is up 17 rigs from last year’s count of 232 with oil rigs up 36, gas rigs down 19 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
