Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is up 2 from last week to 588 with oil rigs up 1 to 481, gas rigs up 1 to 101 and miscellaneous rigs up unchanged at 6. The U.S. Rig Count is down 33 rigs from last year’s count of 621 with oil rigs down 16, gas rigs down 20 and miscellaneous up 3. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 14, down 5 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is down 4 from last week to 245, with oil rigs down 3 to 174, gas rigs down 1 to 71 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is up 11 rigs from last year’s count of 234 with oil rigs up 30, gas rigs down 19 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
