BOE is again having trouble supplying AMOLED panels for Apple’s (AAPL) iPhones, suggesting Apple will redirect some orders for iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and iPhone 16 panels to Samsung (SSNLF) and LG, MacRumors’ Tim Hardwick reports, citing sources in Korea. It is estimated that BOE will take at least six weeks to fix the OLED quality problems and restart supplying displays for these iPhone models, according to the report, which adds that the company is expected to provide around 40 million units for Apple. BOE faced similar challenges in 2023 when it struggled with light leakage issues around the Dynamic Island cutout for iPhone 15 displays, leading Apple to reduce orders significantly.
