Apple (AAPL) is working on a smart doorbell system with advanced facial recognition that can wirelessly connect and unlock third-party smart locks and would present a challenge to Amazon’s (AMZN) Ring, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. Work on the doorbell is still in the early stages, Gurman writes, adding “not to expect anything” to come to market before the end of next year at the earliest.
