Apple (AAPL) has requested that the U.S. Supreme Court reconsider a prior decision in its fight against “Fortnite” maker Epic Games that would alter the rules of the App Store, TechCrunch’s Taylor Hatmaker reports. In a cert petition, the iPhone maker criticized a previous ruling that would force it to let app developers direct their users toward alternative payment options, Hatmaker says. That injunctions continues to be in limbo as the two sides seek to elevate their ongoing dispute to the highest court, but would go into effect if the Supreme Court opts not to take on the case, the author notes. Investors in Epic include Tencent (TCEHY), KKR (KKR), Disney (DIS), and Sony (SONY).
