American Airlines’ (AAL) pilot union has expressed that the ratification of the carrier’s new contract is in “jeopardy” as United Airlines (UAL) has raised the benchmark with its own pact, Reuters’ Rajesh Kumar Singh reports, citing a union memo. Pilots at American are set to begin voting next week on a new four-year deal, but the Allied Pilots Associations said the proposed pay rates, as well as certain quality-of-life items in the contract, pale in comparison with those in United’s preliminary agreement, the author notes.
