Ameren (AEE), Exelon (EXC) and WEC Energy (WEC) are among a number of utility stocks declining in midday trading, which is providing a drag on the Utilities Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLU). The energy benchmark fund has dropped about 1% near 1:10 p.m. ET, while Ameren is down over 6%, Exelon has fallen more than 6% and WEC Energy is down nearly 3%.
