Amazon is planning to launch its delayed overhaul of Alexa in October as new competition rises with AI voice assistants, the Washington Post’s Caroline O’Donovan reports, citing internal documents. Access to the upgraded version, which includes a ‘Smart Briefing’ feature that offers daily AI-generated summaries of news articles, will require a paid subscription that could cost as much as $10 a month.
