Amazon (AMZN) has joined Hollywood’s top lobbying group, the Motion Picture Association, after a long courtship, The New York Times’ Brooks Barnes reports. The lobbying group’s other members are Disney (DIS), Netflix (NFLX), Paramount (PARA), Sony (SONY), Universal (CMCSA), and Warner Bros. (WBD), and has not added a member since 2019, when Netflix joined. “Welcoming Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios into our ranks will broaden our collective policymaking and content protection efforts,” Charles Rivkin, the association’s CEO, said in an interview.
