Amazon (AMZN) is set to release its newest artificial intelligence chips as the company seeks returns on its multibillion-dollar semiconductor investments and reduce its reliance on Nvidia (NVDA), Michael Acton and Tim Bradshaw of The Financial Times reports. Executives at Amazon’s cloud computing division are spending a lot on custom chips, hoping to boost efficiency insides its data centers and bring down the costs to customers of Amazon Web Services.
