Airbus has rolled out a cost reduction program as well as a freeze on overall headcount in an effort to streamline performance at its core plane making unit in 2024 and beyond, just weeks after being forced to lower targets for jet output, Reuters’ Tim Hepher reports, industry sources. Known as “LEAD!,” the new efforts will urgently grapple with an increase in cots per jet and address deeper productivity issues, the author notes.
