Airbus (EADSY) has selected Goldman Sachs (GS) to advise it on its effort to create a new European space and satellite company that will compete with Elon Musk’s SpaceX, Bloomberg’s Aaron Kirchfeld, Siddharth Vikram Philip, Pamela Barbaglia, and Daniele Lepido report. According to people familiar with the matter, talks with French aerospace company Thales (THLLY) and Italy’s Leonardo SpA (FINMF) are in the “exploratory” stage and its full portfolio of services hasn’t been set. Leonardo has hired Bank of America (BAC) for the plan, which has been dubbed Project Bromo, some of the people say.
