About 10,000 hotel workers in cities such as San Francisco, Seattle, and Boston walked off the job on Sunday after their union and some of the country’s largest hotel companies failed to come to an agreement in contract negotiations, Sydney Ember of The New York Times reports. Workers were striking at some Marriot (MAR), Hyatt (H), and Hilton (HIL) hotel properties, as well as one Fairmont hotel, in eight cities across the United States, the Times said citing the union UNITE HERE. The workers included front-desk staff, housekeepers, and other employees.
