TSLA’s Cybertruck Recalls

The company is recalling nearly 11,700 Cybertrucks due to an issue with the vehicle’s windshield wiper. The wiper’s failure can hamper visibility and potentially lead to collisions. The recall includes all Cybertrucks produced between November 13, 2023, and June 6, 2024.

Separately, Tesla is also recalling nearly 11,400 Cybertrucks due to an issue with a trim in the trunk bed. The Cybertruck is equipped with a cosmetic applique along the exterior of the trunk bed rim. According to NHTSA, if the applique becomes loose and separates from the vehicle, it could create a road hazard.

Tesla’s Model Y Impresses

While this is Tesla’s fourth recall involving the Cybertruck, there’s some promising development for the company as well. According to Team-BHP, Tesla’s Model Y has now become the best-selling passenger car globally.

This is the first time that an electric car has reached the pole position. Importantly, the Model Y outshined the Toyota Corolla to notch this feat. The Toyota Corolla had been the world’s best-selling car for nearly two decades.

Is Tesla a Buy, Sell, or Hold?

Meanwhile, Tesla’s share price has tanked by nearly 24% over the past year. Overall, the Street has a Hold consensus rating on the stock, alongside an average TSLA price target of $174.60.
