Documents that the company filed with the U.S. Department of Transportation stated that all the recalled vehicles were manufactured between February 24, 2020, and July 18, 2021, and may not be properly bonded during the manufacturing process.

There can be increased wind noise or water leaks, or both, in the defective vehicles, which can lead to the detachment of windshields and sunroofs, creating a risk of crash or injury, the NHTSA said.

Ford said, “All of the vehicles have improperly attached windshields, while 27,318 of them also may have faulty panoramic glass roof adhesion.”

The recall includes 13,544 vehicles for roof glass repair and 17,692 vehicles for windshield repair only in the U.S. There have not been any reports of accidents or injuries related to these problems, according to the regulatory documents.

Notably, all Mach-E vehicles sold across the globe are built at a plant located in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico. (See Ford stock chart on TipRanks)

Overall, the stock has a Moderate Buy consensus rating based on 5 Buys and 3 Holds. The average Ford Motor price target of $16.16 implies 17.3% upside potential. Shares have gained nearly 106% over the past year.

According to TipRanks’ Smart Score rating system, Ford scores an 8 out of 10, suggesting that the stock is likely to outperform market averages.
