Dell (NYSE:DELL) Gains on New Analyst Approval

Story Highlights

Dell gains fractionally as analysts consider its investor day event and upcoming future in a new light.

Dell (NYSE:DELL), long known for its line of personal computers and its expansion efforts into fields beyond, is actually looking attractive to some analysts these days. And that newfound approval shot a little extra life into Dell, up fractionally in Friday afternoon’s trading.

Pick the best stocks and maximize your portfolio:

The latest word from Bernstein, as expressed by analyst Toni Sacconaghi, Jr. and team, suggests that things are looking up for Dell. Its risk-reward profile is still a solid one, and with a recently concluded investor meeting that proved reasonably successful, the end result was more good news for Dell. Bernstein already calls Dell an Outperform and gave it an $80 price target. And, with Dell increasingly taking a stake in the AI gold rush thanks to its line of AI-capable servers, it may be able to keep its streak alive for some time to come.

There is, however, one notable downside to this point. Dell’s recent revenue forecasts suggest that the “AI boost” that’s coming may not come in the next quarter. Dell stuck to its guns, noting an expected compound annual growth rate of 3% to 4% for revenue. That left some investors disappointed but Evercore ISI analysts declared Dell’s growth projections “conservative.”

Is Dell Stock a Good Buy Now?

Other analysts, meanwhile, are backing Dell, and with reasonable enthusiasm. Dell stock stands as a consensus-rated Moderate Buy, with 12 Buy ratings, three Holds, and one Sell. Meanwhile, Dell also offers investors 10.53% upside potential thanks to its average price target of $73.57.
