Waste Management Welcomes New Board Member, Plans Downsizing

Waste Management (WM) has shared an announcement.

Waste Management, Inc. has expanded its Board of Directors to 10 members, welcoming Mr. Thomas L. Bené, a seasoned executive with leadership experience in the beverage and restaurant supply sectors. As an independent director, Mr. Bené joins the Management Development & Compensation Committee, bringing a wealth of industry knowledge from his roles at Breakthru Beverage Group, LLC, the National Restaurant Association, and Sysco Corporation. He will be compensated with stock and cash for his partial term and will be up for re-election at the 2024 Annual Meeting. Meanwhile, the board plans to downsize back to nine members following the retirement of Director John C. Pope.
