Kern County Public Works has chosen Waga Energy to convert landfill gas into renewable natural gas (RNG) at the Bena Landfill in Bakersfield, California. This collaboration, involving a 20-year off-take agreement with the University of California, aims to produce over 550,000 MMBtu of RNG annually, significantly reducing CO2 emissions and enhancing local air quality. The project utilizes Waga Energy’s WAGABOX® technology, marking its third RNG project in California, and highlights the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in advancing regional decarbonization efforts.
