Vast Renewables Advances Green Methanol Project

Vast Renewables Limited, in collaboration with Mabanaft, has begun pre-front-end engineering and design for its pioneering green methanol plant, SM1, in South Australia. The project aims to produce 7,500 tonnes of eco-friendly methanol annually, powered by renewable heat from Vast’s concentrated solar thermal plant, and has secured significant funding from Australian and German initiatives. With the engineering expertise of Fichtner and bse Methanol, and the leadership of Dr. Amy Philbrook, SM1 stands to revolutionize clean fuel production and the transport sector.
