TSMC Arizona has partnered with the U.S. Department of Commerce to potentially receive $6.6 billion in funding from the CHIPS Act, planning a third advanced semiconductor fab in Phoenix. The company’s total investment in the site is projected to exceed $65 billion, marking significant foreign direct investment in U.S. history. These developments aim to create thousands of high-tech jobs and support a robust semiconductor ecosystem in the United States.
