TotalEnergies has launched its second-largest biomethane production unit, BioNorrois, in Normandy, France. This facility will produce 153 GWh of biomethane annually, enough to supply over 30,000 residents, and will significantly contribute to reducing CO2 emissions by 30,000 tons per year. The project, developed in partnership with Cristal Union, a major sugar producer, highlights TotalEnergies’ commitment to sustainable energy solutions and strengthens its position in the renewable energy sector. The initiative supports a circular economy by utilizing agricultural residues and producing natural fertilizers, benefiting local farmers and reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers.
