Tekcapital plc, the UK intellectual property investment group, reports that its portfolio company, Innovative Eyewear, Inc., has signed English football icon Micah Richards as a brand ambassador to bolster their smart eyewear brands, including Lucyd. Richards, celebrated for his sports career and media presence, is expected to leverage his influence to promote Lucyd’s ChatGPT-enabled glasses and expand market awareness. Innovative Eyewear, which experienced record sales growth in Q4 2023, aims to advance smart eyewear for active lifestyles, a market in which Tekcapital owns a significant 40% share.
