Sumitomo Mitsui Reports Share Buyback Progress

Sumitomo Mitsui (SMFG) has released an update.

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. has announced the progress of its share repurchase program, which is part of a broader initiative approved by the Board of Directors. From May 16 to May 31, 2024, the company successfully bought back 1,309,000 shares for a total of JPY 13,180,801,500. The repurchases were made through market purchases under a discretionary dealing contract.
