STAAR Surgical Company is expanding its Board of Directors from six to eight members, with the addition of Arthur Butcher and Wei Jiang starting March 12, 2024. Butcher, with a strong background in medical device marketing and strategy, has experience in the Asian markets and currently holds a prominent position at Boston Scientific. Jiang, with over two decades in the pharmaceutical and medical device sector, has held senior roles at Bayer and AstraZeneca with a focus on China and Asia/Pacific. Their appointments aim to bolster STAAR Surgical’s expertise and governance, coinciding with the planned reduction of the board to seven members following director K. Peony Yu’s decision not to seek re-election.
