Simcere Pharmaceutical Group Limited has announced the acceptance of their New Drug Application for the sleep aid QUVIVIQ (daridorexant hydrochloride tablets) by China’s National Medical Products Administration. Developed in partnership with Idorsia Pharmaceuticals, QUVIVIQ is a novel hypnotic that does not alter sleep architecture and has shown positive effects on nighttime sleep and daytime functioning in adults with chronic insomnia. The drug, already approved in multiple countries, has completed a successful phase III trial in China, demonstrating significant improvements in sleep-related indicators with good safety and tolerability.
