Sawai Group Holdings has secured exclusive marketing rights for a pioneering therapeutic app developed by CureApp Inc. aimed at reducing alcohol intake in Japan. The agreement includes milestone payments up to 4.8 billion yen to CureApp, with future royalties on sales post-launch. This app, which is awaiting regulatory approval, represents Japan’s first medical device of its kind to potentially receive insurance coverage as a digital therapy for alcohol dependence.
