SAE Prepares to Launch Major Storage Project

SIMEC Atlantis Energy Limited (GB:SAE) has released an update.

SIMEC Atlantis Energy Limited has announced their application to the Scottish Government for the ‘Mey BESS’ project, a large battery energy storage system of up to 300MW/1.2GWh situated near their MeyGen tidal project. The company has obtained the necessary land rights and grid capacity for the BESS project, which is expected to commence with batteries capable of 2 hours of energy storage and is planned for expansion. With the infrastructure already consented, the project is poised for completion by April 2027, bolstering SAE’s renewable energy footprint in the region.
