Rio Tinto has announced the appointment of Katie Jackson as the new Chief Executive of its Copper business, taking over the role in September 2024. Jackson brings a wealth of experience from the energy sector and is set to lead the copper business through a pivotal ramp-up of the Oyu Tolgoi project, aiming for a sustainable growth future. Her global operational and strategic leadership experience is expected to significantly contribute to Rio Tinto’s objectives in the copper market and the transition to a low carbon economy.
