This funding supports the construction of a rare earth and critical minerals pilot processing facility in Sheridan, Wyoming, marking the first new rare earth mine in the U.S. since 1952. The project aims to extract valuable rare earth elements and critical minerals from unconventional coal and carbonaceous ore deposits, potentially positioning Wyoming as a key player in meeting national energy and security needs.
