Ørsted Completes Acquisition of Sunrise Wind

Orsted (DOGEF) has released an update.

Ørsted A/S has fully acquired Eversource’s 50% stake in Sunrise Wind, a 924 MW offshore wind farm off New York’s coast, for a closing price of $152 million. The deal, initially valued at $230 million, has been adjusted due to lower capital expenditure and brings Ørsted to full ownership after the project secured all federal permits and a 25-year OREC contract with NYSERDA at $146 per MWh. This acquisition is set to bolster Ørsted’s presence in New York’s renewable energy sector, following their South Fork Wind project.
